Anonymous Attack
If there was any doubt about my claim that “internet culture moves faster than any bureaucracy,” it should be assuaged by the recent Anonymous attack. After a day of protest against SOPA/PIPA, the certain entertainment industry giants tried to show they would not/could not be stopped. They flexed their influence by causing the Feds to kill Megaupload. Anonymous retaliated. By the end of the day yesterday they were able to take down justice.gov, universalmusic.com, riaa.org, mpaa.org, copyright.gov, hadopi.fr, wmg.com, usdoj.gov, bmi.com, and fbi.gov. Read their statement about the attack here. Also, by the end of the day Megaupload was attempting to resume service at a different domain. This will be an interesting story to keep an eye on.

Excellent story to follow, indeed.
